Samsung Galaxy Prevail 2 Available at Boost Mobile

The Samsung Galaxy Prevail 2 is by no means a flagship smartphone, but it does offer some bang for the buck, and it’s those cheaper smartphones that help Android get its impressive figures.

Also important is that the Samsung Galaxy Prevail 2 runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, so you won’t be deprived of a proper Android experience. It won’t be the best one out there, but the 1.4 GHz CPU will probably still fare pretty well. The display is a 4 incher, at a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels, and it should be pretty good for checking your email or viewing websites and multimedia content.

And speaking of websites, it must be said that the Samsung Galaxy Prevail 2 has 3G connectivity and Wi-Fi so you can load them, while the device also has a microSD card slot (included is a 2 GB card, but cards up to 64 GB are supported) so you can store the images you’re taking with the 5 megapixel camera that’s on its back. The camera can also record HD video and, for videoconfering, there’s also a 1.3 megapixel shooter on the front.

The battery is a 1750 mAh removable one and the device also has GPS – you’ll find a plethora of navigation apps in the Google Play Store, but you can also use the recently updated Google Maps to get to that seaside resort you’re vacationing in.

And if you care about the environment (like we all should), you’ll be happy to find out that we’re talking about a device that’s friendly to it. The Samsung Galaxy Prevail 2 is certified by UL Environment, meaning that it contains materials that are environmentally preferrable, so they have a minimal impact on what surrounds us.

Now, as I said from the start, this is no flagship device, but it does offer quite a bit for its price, which is $179.99 on Boost mobile, off-contract. For that amount of money, it’s a nice entrance into the Android world.

The other groovy thing about this is its a decent prepaid phone, and we love prepaid options. Check out how much money you can save by switching to prepaid!
